Beautification work of IU lake inaugurated

The beautification work of Islamic University (IU)’s lake in Kushtia was inaugurated with festive atmosphere on Tuesday.

IU VC Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari inaugurated the work as the chief guest while IU Pro-VC Dr M Shahinoor Rahman, Treasurer Professor M Selim Toha, Proctor Professor M Mahbubar Rahman, Convener of the university beautification committee Professor M Zakaria Rahman, acting chief Engineer M Alimuzzaman, senior sales manager of Akij Group Nasim Hasan Pikul and among others were present.

M Alimuzzaman, acting chief engineer of the university said the beautification work of the lake will be ended after 3 years while more than Tk 3.5 crore will be needed for its completion.

The work started with Tk 13 lakhs of university own fund where Akij Group will provide the cost of 3 dangling bridges of the lake as the sponsor, he added.
